Unified Communications

Lync LogoMicrosoft® Lync® is an enterprise-ready unified communications platform. With Lync, users can keep track of their contacts’ availability; send an IM; start or join an audio, video, or web conference; or make a phone call—all through a consistent, familiar interface. Lync is built to fully integrate with Microsoft Office.

Lync Presence States

  • Users can see real-time presence information, including photos, availability and location.
  • You can sort your contacts by status so you know who's available and how to reach them.
  • Lync can update your location automatically based on where you're logging in, or you can set it manually.
  • You only need one list for all your contacts, whether they're on Lync or on other IM services.
  • Lync can translate IM conversations for contacts who speak another language.

Lync makes it easy for users to create, moderate, and join pre-planned and on-the-fly audio, video, and web meetings with people inside and outside the organisation. Users can:

  • share documents with one or more contacts right from the application you're using
  • monitor the clarity of your online meeting connections with informational quality alerts
  • record online meetings and save them to reference or share with others later
  • open a collaborative virtual whiteboard in one click
  • see the person you’re conferencing with more clearly
