A local area network (LAN) is a computer network that interconnects computers in a limited area such as a home, school or office building.

A wide are network (WAN) is a network that covers a broad area, linking computers across metropolitan, regional or national boundaries.

Genisyst can design your LAN and WAN to suit your needs, allowing reliable, accessible and secure connection to your other offices and also to the internet. Our technical experts can incorporate all aspects into your design including a phone system, internet connections, firewalls, WAN optimizers, our data centre (for any virtulisation requirements), routers and switches.

Example Diagram of a WAN design

In the following design the customer has a private-IP MPLS network with Fibre Ethernet connections at head-office, at the Disaster-Recovery (DR) office and one other large office with Ethernet-over-Copper (EoC) connections at two smaller offices. They also have a backup MPLS network centred at the DR office, bypassing the infrastructure at Global Switch should that become un-available.
