Case Study 4: The Australian Society of Anaesthetists

The ASA, was founded in 1934 with 7 members and now has 2,480 members – representing 75% of Australian specialist anaesthetists.

The Situation: ASA required a trouble free internet connection and subsequently a new phone system along with network management solutions. Being a voluntary association of members operating throughout Australia and supported by its head office in Sydney the ASA had a specific set of requirements for their network and needed a supplier who would properly understand and manage these needs for them in a cost effective way.

Our Approach: Genisyst met these initial requirements and also as newer, more efficient and cost-effective technologies have become available we’ve identified cost saving opportunities and have continued to upgrade the ASA’s network solution. One recent benefit has been that remote management of the ASAs’ internal phone system has allowed Genisyst to take care of everyday changes required by the ASA.

The Result: The ASA have progressed from SHDSL through to cost-effective ADSL2 and they now have a sophisticated telephone system with an ISDN10 line connected to a Genisyst SIP300i PABX with 19 multi-function screen VOIP handsets.
